It’s my friends big birthday and we will be celebrating in Gouves. Can anyone recommend something special we can do? She has 3 small children so has to be something they can be part of.
People have recommended the water park etc but wanted something a bit more special than that!

The owners are so lovely, food is great and of course Raki ;)- local alcohol- kind of sharp taste 😉
Chania Town is magic 😉 There are shops with an ice-cream or strong coffee. You can park car safely nearby Old Town.
Remember have water, sun cream and hats as sun was very strong. 02/04-06/04/2016 but we did not expect that good weather. We visited Crete first time but not last.
We are back in August for a week. I can recommend to see Balos Beach, Elafonisi Beach, to drive to Heronnisos and to walk along sandy coast 😉
There are many attractions for old, young and families. The food is quite cheap but petrol was about € 1,50-€ 1,52 per litre.
We have been watching sunrise and sunset- unforgettable and fast experience.
The roads are quite stony but it is easy to drive just omit big wholes and stones 🙂

I was over in Crete with family in April 2016 -five days only. We are back in August. We just fell in love 😉 Crete is an amazing place, people are so nice and friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much!!!
We visited Creteaquairum and Dinosauria Park. Both places worth to be seen.
We also went to Elafonissi Beach. In August we would like to drive to Balos beach, Water park and just relax.
